Do you find it Perfect, or are there some exceptions?
Let's hear from all Thinkers :)

Update: Well, dear Philosophers! "Search a beautiful heart, not a beautiful face" was the line before this one. I separated the two...as I wasn't sure if these were linked. They can both survive independently...isn't it?!? Personally, I believe Goodness has a Beauty of its own...warm, charming, uplifting! ... show more

Best Answer: Applies to people too. Many beautiful people are not good (i.e. evil inside). Truly good people are beautiful (even if not physically).

That's someone's personal experience. If you like applying it in your own life, then your life might be similar to the person who wrote that quote.
Playing with words seem to be a good thing and looks also beautiful but not always true.
An ugly thing can be good but not beautiful. Medicine is good but not beautiful - sugar is not good but beautiful - Ugly thing needs being sugar coated to be beautiful. That's one example.
There are people who have great effect of medicine but they cannot be as successful as sugary people in such and such businesses.
I expect you understand these meanings. :DFake Genius · 5 years ago10 -

As the goes, 'beauty lies in the eyes of beholder'. There is no fixed definition of beauty. There is no ugliness either. To the heart all good things appear beautiful. There is beauty in goodness.

i believe that-
perfection lies within imperfection.
the idea of "perfection" is always a matter of opinion because personal ideals vary from person to person. every one has a unique perception on the world we live in, and we all fight to change the world in whatever way we see fit. so, is something that seems perfect really all that perfect? and what would you be giving up internally to be perfect on the outside??
beauty is also a matter of opinion, we can see this in he different cultures standards around the world.
the idea of "good"-seems to me to satisfy the peace in yourself by getting what you truly desire in life, for me personally: a good man is one who is wise deep loving and healthy. a gentleman.
sometimes, people who try too hard to meet societies standards of what is considered beautiful in the cultures timeline and location..(ex-americans think blonde hair and big boobs is all you need to be set in live)-and often lose a part of their holy self in return. some people are fine with this. others not. something that is "good", you will always find the inner beauty and it will seep out from the person as you spend time with them. also-think about, as a environmental metaphor, a poisinous frog, how beautiful its colors are! yet, it'll kill ya -
There are many exceptions. Now, if you substitute the word PEOPLE for things, I would agree that it is universal. But some good things are inherently ugly. I have to take a number of pills to maintain my health. I think they look like bird turds but they do the job! I know someone who is dependent on leg braces. They will never be beautiful but they are valuable and essential to him.Milton · 5 years ago21

It's a perfect quote, love it! That is if good is defined as life giving, protecting, productive and preservative! However unfortunately we as humans are ignorantly attracted to the glamor, which is a tough one to overcome but should be done for ones fullness of life and freedom from vanity & destruction.Eric Hayes · 5 years ago20

Examples of things that are good, but not beautiful.
1. Beef Stew
2. Tampons and Maxi-Pads
3. The toothless, greasy, unshaven gardner who mows your lawn for cheap.
4. Keith Richards, guitar player for The Rolling Stones

The essence of a thing is not its quality? Good is a quality? Beauty is a quality, not the whole essence of the thing. Good is a quality absolute? Or is good a quality that comes from the purpose for which it is taken in use. Things of good quality are as beauty, they are good until the purpose for their use turns bad.Psyengine · 5 years ago30

I tend to agree. I was trying to think of something good that isn't usually beautiful, but it didn't work. Like excreting feces from the bowel. lol It's a good thing, and though not pretty, it is part of the biological process, and is therefore beautiful. :)

good is just about not being bad.you always wanna scape the worst things,so good always remains good...Emily · 5 years ago11 -
IDK. Beauty and non-beauty, the difference is subjective. To one, a thing is beautiful. To another, that same thing is ugly. Good and bad, likewise. So where do find a foothold?Yesu Ben · 5 years ago30
